WHAT'S TIMGAD ?

 

Timgad is the name of an ancient Roman city in Algeria. The gorgeous ruins, culture, and off-grid nature of the city as it stands today serve as inspiration for our café's family. Our proprietor is Algerian. Our staff come from local neighborhoods of Washington, DC as well as from countries around the globe. Moreover, our customer base is comprised of a wide spectrum of world citizens who work globally in the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America but who call DC home.

Because of this, Timgad Café is a center for a diverse community who place high standards on all aspects of intentional living and education. We stand out for our commitments to environmental justice, our family-oriented behind-the-counter atmosphere, and our dedication both to simplicity and quality in every aspect of our work. We serve the best ingredients in our sandwiches, salads, and know what we are doing when it comes to espresso.  Like the city we are named after, Timgad Café strives to be a space where education, creativity, and passions thrive.
